More About World Audio Drama Day 🎵

October 30th is celebrated each year as the 1938 radio broadcast anniversary of War of the Worlds, the most famous audio drama of all time. World Audio Drama Day celebrates the "panic broadcast" as well as the continuing artistry and achievements in American audio drama. From live stage performances to pre-recorded podcasts, there are now more audio dramas produced each year in the US than when Orson Welles and John Houseman's Mercury Theatre first thrilled the nation in 1938. Special events and performances, listening marathons and broadcasts are held throughout late October to celebrate this day.
